Ans- Horace danby had seen the housekeeper of the house and the key to the kitchen door on hooq outside. He put on a pair of gloves, took the key, and open the door. This is how horace danby enter the house at shotover grange.



Que 2. Describe the safe at shotover grange?
Answer: The safe at Shotover Grange was kept in the drawing room behind a poor painting and had jewels worth about 15000 pounds kept in it. It had a poorly built burglar alarm, but could be opened only through a specific code.


Que.3 How did flowers hinder Horace in his work?
Answer-Horace had hay fever, a disorder affecting the nose and throat, caused by allergy to pollen or dust. Due to this problem, whenever he came close to flowers, he began to sneeze and could be caught.


Que.4 What did Horace do to flatter the lady?
Answer- he overlooked the fact that his fingerprints were left all over the safe. He blindly believed the lady, and thus, in spite of his meticulous planning, he faltered.
